Leading an active lifestyle has been a staple of my formative years, playing multiple sports from a young age before focusing on Rugby in my late teens, which led to a 10 year career playing across the National Leagues and representing numerous County sides in various age groups. Throughout this time I felt I needed to understand how to train in order to compete at the best of my abilities, which is where my passion for the strength & conditioning truly began. 

Since I’ve stopped playing Rugby, I have competed in multiple CrossFit competitions, begun playing Cricket again and I am an avid cyclist, which has helped me understand the demands of various activities and sports. Along the way I have worked with and been fortunate enough to pick the brains of some fantastic coaches which has helped expand my knowledge base. 

I am a firm believer that fitness and performance require not only a strong body but an even stronger mind.

Your tailored training program journey — the Elements process.
Aid your long-term fitness development with a bespoke plan.

1. CONSULTATION

You will have an in-depth consultation session where our coaches will help gain an understanding of the direction your training should take based on your goals. This will include talking through fitness experience and any injuries. This is a relaxed discussion to get to know you as an individual.

WE HIGHLY VALUE THE ‘PERSONAL’ ASPECT IN PT – WE GET TO KNOW YOU FIRST & HELP OVERCOME POTENTIAL BARRIERS!

2. ASSESSMENT

Based on your experience, ability, and on information gathered in Step 1, you will then be offered a session to assess where you are in relation to your goals. This should give us a set of results to see which areas need improvement to reach your goals. We assess basic movement, mobility and fitness at this stage.

3. FEEDBACK

You will then be shown the results by your coach, who will break down the reason for the results and highlight the key pillar(s) that require more or less focus. After this session, your coach will create a bespoke plan for you. This will include options for classes and a strategic workout plan that fits around your schedule and lifestyle.

4. PROGRAM DELIVERY / 1-1 SESSIONS START

With our thorough initial process complete, your coach is now well placed to begin working closely with you. Your plan will likely include additional Elements such as, lifestyle planning, nutritional guidance or exercise sessions to complete – you may even be provided with exercise videos to follow along to. You will be kept supported & informed, ensuring you have the ‘know how’ to achieve the results you want. We are in in it together!

5. REVIEW, RESULTS & NEXT STEPS!

At relevant stages along your long-term roadmap, we will review your progress in key areas. The review allows you to see in data how you’ve improved, from (but not limited to) body composition, strength / power ratio’s, flexibility in specific areas and many more. It also allows you to plan the next steps of your training regime with your coach and discuss any changes you wish to make. This ensures the plan is keeping up to date with any changes life brings!

HOW DOES PT DIFFER AT ELEMENTS FROM OTHERS?

We have a bespoke and totally unique approach to 1-1 coaching. From the first consultation session where we will help you identify areas in your own perceived needs that you may not be aware of.

To our assessment protocol will enable us to thoroughly plan out your roadmap to success and no matter which training style suits your goals the most, we will identify the ways that will ensure you get there – while keeping you informed of the WHY behind the WHAT at every stage of your training.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO ACHIEVE FROM PERSONAL TRAINING?

The answer to this lies solely with yourself. We will provide you with everything you need to get to your destination – but it’s on you to walk through the door!

I’VE HEARD PERSONAL TRAINERS ARE JUST THERE TO ‘BEAST ME’, IS THIS TRUE?

In a word, NO. Improving your fitness is tough, but we go through extensive planning with you to ensure your training follows progressive overload, allowing you to make adaptations, recover and come back stronger ready to do it all again! Although exercise must CHALLENGE YOU, to make progress, you need to be able to stick with it!

HOW LONG ARE THE APPOINTMENTS?

Generally, the consultation & assessment session is between 60 & 90 minutes, from there, 1 hour is the standard session length.

I’VE HEARD IT’S EXPENSIVE – IS THIS SO?

As with any service – you are paying a skilled professional for their time and expertise. We have a wide range of options however to suit most budgets. We are happy to run through these with you on request!

I’M ANXIOUS ABOUT WORKING WITH A COACH – WHAT STEPS ARE INVOLVED?

As your 1-1 journey is completely tailored to yourself – we take the time to get to know you at the start, aiding the pathway to results. Before training we have an informal chat over a coffee and outline your roadmap together.

• What are your goals – maybe you don’t know – we will help you understand what you WANT and NEED from training
• Thorough health screening, including checking medical status, injury history & barriers to exercise / activity

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE FIRST TRAINING SESSION?

Your first active session will give us a better insight into your personal fitness capabilities and allow us to check the status of key areas of fitness, as relevant to yourself and your needs, including:

  • Mobility & Flexibility
  • Strength & Power
  • Co-ordination & Balance
  • Cardiovascular abilities

OK – SO WHAT COMES NEXT?

Following your consultation & assessment session – your coach will then work hard to draw up your plan for success – which will include

• Support content to assist with specific areas of fitness
• Simple yet effective tactics to overcome your barriers
• Anything else to assist you to smash through your targets!

HOW DO I KNOW IF I’M MAKING PROGRESS?

Regular reviews are part and parcel of training. We ensure we retest applicable elements of fitness, whilst catching up regularly to check all the aspects of your plan are on track. From your exercise, to your sleep, nutritional approach & general lifestyle factors.
